Questions about Sfuma

Sfuma is a free portrait retouching app for iPhone, made by NameVerse, Inc. Short answers first; each one links to the page with the detail.

Free, watermark, price

Is Sfuma free?

Yes. Every tool, 50 looks, full-resolution export and pasting shared looks are free with no time limit. Today’s version has no ads; if ads come, they never show in your first 30 days, and after that one may appear after an export or when you come back to the app, unless you unlock. Pricing.

Does Sfuma add a watermark?

No. There is no watermark on any export, free or unlocked. Exports are re-rendered at the photo’s full resolution.

What does the unlock include?

No ads, sharing your own looks as codes, and 28 more looks on top of the 50 free ones. Everything else stays free anyway. Annual or lifetime, no monthly plan.

How much does Sfuma cost?

The app is free. The unlock is priced per country by the App Store; once Sfuma is listed, the App Store shows the exact price in your currency before you confirm.

Is there a trial I need to cancel?

No. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to cancel. The app simply stays free.

Privacy

Does Sfuma upload my photos?

No. Editing runs on your iPhone. The only upload is a feedback report you choose to send, and the app lists what it contains before you press Send. How privacy is built.

Does Sfuma need an account?

No. There is no login. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account (Apple ID) by Apple, so Restore purchase works without us knowing who you are.

How can I check that nothing leaves my phone?

Settings → Network activity lists every server the app’s own code has connected to, with the purpose. App Store purchases run inside iOS and are not listed. A fresh install shows “No network activity — as promised.”

Does Sfuma track me for ads?

No. Today’s version has no ads and no ad code. If ads come, they will be non-personalized: no advertising identifier, no tracking prompt.

Does Sfuma ask for access to my whole photo library?

No. It uses the system photo picker, so it sees only the photos you choose. Your originals are never modified. When you save, it asks only for permission to add photos.

What is in a feedback report?

What you were trying to do, how it went, your description, your device model, iOS and app version, language, a random install ID and, if you switch them on, the photo you edited, the result, your edit settings and the face-detection numbers. Location and camera serial are stripped from photos first. You can delete a report any time. Privacy policy.

Skin, tone, results

Will smoothing lighten or change my skin color?

No. Smoothing works on texture only. A test in the app’s suite measures color balance and brightness before and after heavy smoothing on portraits across roughly Fitzpatrick II–VI. The numbers.

Does Sfuma work on dark skin?

Yes, and it is tested on it. The tone-lock test runs on every portrait in the test set, from roughly Fitzpatrick II to VI.

Does smoothing make skin look plastic?

At default it should not: pores and texture stay visible at 100 percent zoom. Each slider has a soft detent at the point where the edit still looks like you; you can go past it.

Can I remove pimples and dark spots from a photo?

Yes. Heal has an Automatic mode that finds spots and a Manual brush that rebuilds a spot from the skin around it.

Does it work on group photos?

Yes. Each face gets its own edits, and small faces at the back are smoothed like a close-up. Undo returns to the face each change was made on.

Can I see the original while editing?

Press and hold the photo. It works at any zoom.

Features and devices

Does Sfuma remove backgrounds?

Not in the current version. The editor’s four tabs are Slimming, Touch Up, Looks and Edit.

Which iPhones and iOS versions are supported?

iOS 16 and later.

How big is the app?

Small, because it bundles no machine-learning models of its own; it uses the ones already on your iPhone. The App Store listing shows the exact size.

What is a recipe code?

A short code like SF-2400-CCW0 that carries an edit’s settings. Paste it in Sfuma and the look is applied to your photo, scaled to your face. Making one needs the unlock; pasting one is free. Recipes.

Is Sfuma available in Turkish?

Yes. The app and this site are in Turkish and English, and the Vivid look family is tuned for Turkey.

Is Sfuma on Android?

Not today. Sfuma is built on Apple’s on-device frameworks and ships for iPhone first.
